For 121 years this Fir Tree grew along the Bow River in Canmore, Alberta. This tree was one of my favorites as it was my landmark to start my run and cool down at the end. It grew with a substantial lean toward the water and was easily recognizable. In the summer of 2023 this beautiful Fir was felled. I knew I wanted to memorialize my running tree and brought this lovely piece home with me. I still use its stump as my landmark and remember it's uniqueness.

Each original hand rubbed print is 1 of only 50 made. They are made by thoughtfully and gently placing acid free Japanese Kozo paper onto this spectacular tree slice that was coated in archival quality ink. I then slowly and methodically used my hands to rub the top of the stump to expose the relief of the tree rings and character hidden within.

Each of these 50 prints are unique as handmade art should be. They are all titles, signed and numbered. There might be slight variations but that is what makes them so special.

The mountains I live in and the forests that surround them are the reason I create my art. I want to honor and showcase how simple and naturally beautiful the world can be.

All prints are 20" x 30" and are placed inside a sturdy cardboard tube to ensure it stays safe and crisp in transit.

Please note magnetic hanger is not included in this purchase.
