"Being in the Rocky Mountains is where I feel grounded, where I feel love, its where I feel connected

It is where I choose to spend my time with my babies. Where they would gift me precious stones from the banks of the Bow River and fallen branches from the forest with their whole heart. It's where we still choose to spend our time together more than a decade later. 

Those stones and branches gave me an appreciation for the often overlooked natural beauty of this place. They made me want to create and share my art. 

I want others to be able to see the story in a trees rings that grew here and notice they're small because its hard to grow here, then notice their age and think how wonderful it is that they were able to. I want people to remember the way being in the forest makes them feel every time they wear my jewelry. I want to connect them to the mountains I adore, connect them to nature"

The Rocky Mountains are where my life began as an adventurer, a naturalist, a mother and an artist. They are my home."

Janell Morgan is a self taught artist and naturalist living in the rocky mountain town of Canmore, Alberta. When she isn't working from her home studio she can be found sauntering through the forest with her husband and sons. Her desire to adorn her home and body with meaning is what started and continues to furthers her path as an artist.
